Carol Berberian is a dedicated community leader with deep roots in Belmont, a strong record of public service, and the experience needed to help our town navigate complex challenges now and into the future. Throughout her years of service, I have found Carol to be someone who has a thoughtful, open-minded approach to local leadership and is deeply committed to listening to the various voices in Belmont. Carol not only welcomes, but seeks out open dialogue on complex issues. Carol’s collaborative style, grounded in experience and commitment to Belmont, helps create dialogue and keeps the community informed and engaged. Carol is a genuine, lifelong Belmont resident who knows the bones of our community; its neighborhoods, its history, and the practical realities that shape how our town operates. That depth of community knowledge matters, especially when Belmont faces difficult choices about services, capital needs, and long-term planning.

“Carol is an exceptionally well rounded and talented candidate for Select Board: a lifelong resident who understands well Belmont’s strengths and challenges; a tireless town volunteer who has served on countless boards and committees; an expert on Belmont zoning who has spearheaded development that preserves Belmont’s character; and a business woman and parent of two children in Belmont’s schools.”

Carol Berberian will bring experience, vision, and inclusive leadership to the Belmont Select Board.  As a lifelong resident, Carol demonstrates a strong commitment to the town.  I have worked with Carol in a number of capacities and benefitted from her service to the community. Her involvement as a softball coach not only taught my daughter and her friends the fundamentals of softball, but also instilled valuable lessons about teamwork and learning from their experiences. Through her work with the Belmont League of Women Voters, Carol has supported the organization and contributed insightful ideas to foster growth. Additionally, as a member of the Belmont High School Parent Teacher Association Organization (PTSO), Carol has shared innovative ideas to enhance fundraising efforts and increase membership.

Having worked with Carol, I have witnessed her ability to listen, understand, provide guidance, and make decisions that best serve the organizations and committees she is part of. Effective town leadership requires engaging with the public, understanding diverse concerns, and making choices that benefit the entire community. Carol consistently demonstrates these qualities in her work with local organizations and roles within town government.

Belmont faces significant challenges in the coming years, including ongoing budgetary constraints as well as residential and business development.

To address these challenges, the Select Board needs a leader with experience, vision, and inclusive leadership. Carol Berberian possesses all three qualities and will contribute them to the Select Board.

Please vote to elect Carol on April 7, 2026 .
